Ghost Chase III

Postby ktagadmin on Wed Dec 12, 2007 1:52 am

Lets set the scene… It is a cold, wet and foggy night in Cadiz Ky when in comes a bunch of cachers into the nearest McDonalds for a Georendezvous. In attendance were:
Dystaxia
terrillh60
legend68
Rickandjen
Sotiros
Geogolfer1
AbbysGrammy
Bulli the Wonder Dog
Team Cabear
queen_ladybug
princedragonfly
leavearock
NashvilleJoe
Lord of the Caches
G’ Dad
O-Mega

The evening started with intros of new members and some getting reacquainted with old friends. Then the unveiling of a Banner for KTAG personally (and professionally may I add) made by Carl (leavearock) ...more on this later on.
After the required chit-chat the coordinates were given out for eight new caches hidden for this event. After waiting a few minutes so everyone could enter the coordinates, exchange some TBs and discover some Geocoins we lined up for the convoy. Then it happened, Mario Andretti took over the body of our friend NashvilleJoe (who thought we had left) and proceeded to race down the road in the new Geovan II to “catch-up” with us. Needless to say that he had to wait on us at the first cache site.
The first cache was a bit easy for these hardened cachers, who found it in just a few minutes. Then it was off to the next two caches which were night caches, the night was so foggy that all you could see through the trees were beams of lights running around in circles (as planned of course). After the second night cache (well as explained by Rick of Rickandjen they were all night caches…I will let him expound on that :rotfl: ) we decided to hit Hematite Micro and Flashlight Required and LBL Furnace Earthcache for those that still needed it. As for the required pictures :photo: for the earthcache, let’s just say that flashes in the fog don’t do well at all. After the 1.5 – 2 mile walk through the woods we discussed the next cache. it was to be Lothlorien a cache down a gravel/mud road so Team NAB stayed back and prepared hot chocolate, coffee and special “homemade” cookies for a nice break after the cache. Talk about a nice setup, hot chocolate, cookies and a warm place to chat did wonders for the cachers on a chilly night. Then it was off to the races to get the remaining caches. The Ghost Chase didn't last as long as the last two, but I believe everyone had a good time running around LBL chasing the glow in the dark Ghosts in the new caches. Congrats to all the cachers with FTFs and here’s to next year’s GC IV!

P.S. For those that took pictures, I invite you to post them into photos.ktag.us to share with everyone.
